This was our main location for our video. We used the main reception as it had very distinctive features such as the very large spiral staircase. We filmed just in front of this, with the equipment at either side of our artists.
We also filmed in a couple of other rooms to add variety to our video. The second room we used was that of a large open space with two tall pillars in the centre of the room. During our shooting in this room we were forced to use natural light, thankfully it was a rather bright day and the windows in the building were very large, this I believe was due to the fact that it is a very old property that has been modernised but also has kept some of its old distinctive features such as the windows.
The other room we used was the library facility for the building, this therefore meant that the room was slightly darker and when we were filming in the library, the evening was closing in so this in turn meant that that we were forced to use artificial light in the form of several spotlights that were already in place in the building. Surprisingly the light that the spotlight provided was very good, and worked extremely well. As we focused the spotlights on our main lead singer, it made him stand out and highlighted him above the rest of the artists and overall the band setup.
We tried to use the features that the building possessed as we felt we must take every opportunity to make our video as original and unique as possible.
We did consider throughout the day using a couple of exterior shots due to the fact that the scenery was really picturese and nice. But we went against the idea and thought we would try to stick to the theme of continuity with whole video being inside.
